Local child and log data

SleepLog stores the child profiles you enter (name and date of birth), sleep, wake, feeding, crying and other log events with time information, optional quick comments and free-text notes, and daily markers for illness, teething or infection in a local database on the device. App settings and the local unlock state of SleepLog Pro are also stored on the device. This information concerns children and may contain health-related information. It is processed only locally for views, evaluations and PDF logs; the app does not transmit it to us. There is no user account and no app server of our own.

Notifications, time zone and files

If you enable reminders, the app schedules a daily local notification and requests Android notification permission. Scheduling uses the device time-zone identifier, not geographic location. SleepLog exports JSON backups and CSV files, imports JSON backups, and generates PDFs for printing or sharing. When saving, you choose a destination in the Android file picker; Google Drive or another configured document provider may also be available there. The app has no Google sign-in, Drive API or automatic cloud synchronization. Only your selection passes the file to the provider or recipient; their privacy terms apply to their processing. JSON, CSV and PDF files may contain child and health data in plain text. Protect exported files yourself and delete copies separately; deleting data in SleepLog does not delete those copies. Temporary exports remain in the app cache until removed by the app, Android or clearing app storage. The app uses no camera or photo feature.

SleepLog Pro and Google Play Billing

SleepLog Pro is a one-time in-app purchase. The app queries Google Play for product availability and can start purchase or restore processes through Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment and account data required for the purchase under its own privacy terms. The app stores the unlock state locally; no server of our own processes payment data.

GitHub retrievals, external links and no analytics

The app loads legal texts first from a local cache and then from bundled JSON files. In the background it attempts to update the legal notice and privacy policy for all supported languages from raw.githubusercontent.com/scorparc/legal. A synchronization attempt occurs at most once every 24 hours, including after a failed attempt; after network, HTTP or JSON errors, the cache and fallback remain valid and a later attempt is possible. This technically transmits the IP address to GitHub, but not log, child or usage data. A list of further apps can also be loaded there. When you tap, GitHub Pages, the methodology website of Kinderspital Zürich or store pages can be opened; the privacy terms of the respective services apply. No analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking services are configured in the app code. There is no automatic cloud backup; Android system backups and data transfers are disabled. The legal basis for the GitHub retrieval is our legitimate interest in up-to-date mandatory information (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Deletion and your rights

You can delete individual entries or child profiles in the app and remove local app data through device settings. Under the GDPR, you have in particular the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. Where data is stored only on your device, you can inspect, change or delete it there yourself. Google is the relevant contact for data it processes as part of a purchase. This policy is updated when functions, services or data processing change; the current version is available in the app and, if you wish, in the browser in the selected language.

Optional app lock

The free Android app lock uses the configured device PIN, pattern or password. Android verifies the credential; SleepLog receives only the result, not the credential. The setting is stored locally. The app locks when you leave it and on restart. When enabled, the app content is protected in screen captures and the recent-apps overview. This is an access lock, not additional encryption of the database or exported files. A secure device screen lock is required.

The German version is the legal master version.
